Dining Room Server

Job Description: Reporting to the Dining Room Manager, the Dining Room Server is responsible for providing guests with exceptional service during their Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner meals. The Dining Room Servers will prepare the set up and clean up of all meal services for guests. Working collaboratively with the other Dining Room Servers, Assistant Servers, Bartender, Expeditor and Dishwasher.

Dining Room Assistant Server

Job Description: Reporting to the Dining Room Manager, the Dining Room Assistant Server is responsible for assisting the Servers with the guest’s experience during their Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner meals. The Dining Room Assistant Servers will deliver the meals from the kitchen to the dining room and assist the Servers with the clean up of all meal services for guests. Working collaboratively with the other Dining Room Assistant Servers, Servers, Bartender, Expeditor and Dishwasher.

Room Attendant

Job Description: Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the overall comfort and cleanliness of guest rooms, the Main Inn lobby, hallways, washrooms, staff accommodations and other various areas of the resort when requested as standards permit. Working collaboratively with the Laundry Manager, In-room Supervisor and other departments.

Thank you for considering Fern Resort as a place to work. We welcome applications from year-round employees, college and university students, co-op students, and local high school students. Students from outside the area may also apply if they have local accommodations for the summer. 1) About Fern Resort

Fern Resort is a year-round, four-and-a-half-star American Plan resort located on beautiful Lake Couchiching, just outside of Orillia. With 103 guest rooms, we mainly serve families from mid-June through Labour Day. Staff members also enjoy access to many of the resort’s facilities as an added perk. 2) Employment Opportunities

During the off-season (September through April), available positions can be discussed directly with Human Resources. For the summer season, we typically hire for the following roles:

3) Application Information

Applications for seasonal summer positions are accepted beginning in January, while off-season applications are welcomed year-round. Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted by email, so please provide an active email address that you check regularly.

4) Summer Availability Requirements

To be considered for a summer position, applicants must be available from mid-June until Labour Day Monday. Hours between May and mid-June are generally part-time, with full-time schedules beginning in mid-June. Applicants unavailable through Labour Day will not qualify for summer employment.

5) Staff Accommodations

Limited staff housing is available for employees who are 18 years of age or older.

Single room: $85/week
Double or triple room: $69/week per person

Rates include three meals daily. Please note that single rooms are limited and cannot be guaranteed. Applicants under 18 must arrange their own local accommodations to be eligible for employment.

6) Wages

Starting wages are:

$17.60/hour for employees aged 18 and older
$16.60/hour for employees under 18

Wages are subject to change in accordance with Ontario employment regulations.
