About the Role
Waterfront Waterski/Wakeboard Instructor
Reporting to the Waterfront Manager, the Waterfront Waterski/Wakeboard Instructor is responsible to ensure the safety of the guests while in and about the dock area, to teach water skiing, to assist the Boat Dock when necessary, in a friendly manner and drive the boats properly and safely.
Contract – June 22 to September 1, 2025
Responsibilities:
- Ensure guests are the proper age and have proper lifesaving equipment and have waivers completed.
- Teach guests who sign up how to water ski, wake board and ride the banana boat.
- Keep the ski dock areas clean, and secured after each shift.
- Drive pontoon boat for a tour of Lake Couchiching and water ski boats for lessons/runs/towables.
- Assist on the Waterfront Boat Dock , when scheduled.
- Ability to assess weather conditions so guests are not in danger of being stranded on the lake.
- Relay any messages are concerns to the management.
Job Specification:
- Good technical knowledge of boats and engines and water ski equipment.
- Valid Boaters License/ Water Ski Foundations Instructors Certification & Membership with WSWO is required.
- Knowledge of Lake Couchiching an asset.
- To be alert at all times, reliable and punctual.
- First Aid/CPR an asset.
- May be required to work elsewhere on property if needed.
- Shifts are 9-5pm, 7-8pm.
- Participation in the Fern Resort Sunday Night Ski Show is required.
